Everyone should be able to take part.
We want this website, and the evenings themselves, to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we’ve done
- A “Skip to content” link at the start of every page, straight past the header.
- Pages and menus that work with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are.
- Form fields with their own labels, and problems explained in words beside the field, never by color alone.
- Light and dark themes, and text that grows with your browser’s zoom.
- Layouts that fit a phone screen without scrolling sideways.
- Motion that calms down when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Text descriptions for meaningful images; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
At the evenings
You don’t need a phone to take part. Guests who’d rather not use one get a printed sheet with the same information, and the host enters their choices for them.
If something would help you enjoy the evening, such as where you sit, the lighting, a quieter spot, help hearing, or more time between conversations, tell us when you apply or when you reply to your invitation, and we’ll do our best to arrange it. Ask us about access at the venue before you accept, and we’ll tell you what we know.
What we’re still working on
We haven’t had an independent accessibility audit yet, so there may be problems we haven’t found. Payment happens on Stripe’s secure checkout page, which Stripe looks after.
Tell us what isn’t working
If any part of this site is hard to use, or you’d like information in another format, email curatedconnectionsxo@gmail.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we’ll reply and fix it or find another way to help. You don’t need to explain why you’re asking.
How we look after your information is in our privacy policy.
